Vice President, International Market Development
As vice president of international market development for the National Pork Board, Courtney Knupp’s focus is to establish pork as the global protein of choice through marketing and promotion.
Knupp collaborates with the U.S. Meat Export Federation and the National Pork Producers Council to research and develop new markets and expand the customer base for U.S. pork.
Knupp joined the Pork Checkoff in February 2022 and has an extensive background in the U.S. pork industry as she grew up on a pig farm in Iowa and built her career serving the U.S. agricultural sector.
Her early career included two private industry experiences, working in sales and marketing roles at Elanco and BASF. She then spent four years at the National Pork Producers Council in Washington, D.C. as the director of international trade policy, where she leveraged Pork Checkoff-funded research and worked with USMEF to remove non-tariff barriers for pork exports. She has since held numerous appointments at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including senior policy advisor for the Foreign Agricultural Service, and most recently was with the U.S. Soybean Export Council as director of animal and aquaculture nutrition meal. Outside of her role at NPB, Knupp was recently voted to serve on the International Meat Secretariat (IMS) Board of Directors and is now the chair of the IMS Marketing Committee.
Knupp earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and international agriculture from Iowa State University. Originally from Washington, Iowa, Knupp now resides in Indianapolis, Indiana.
