Two calls for research concepts have been announced by the International Consortium for Antimicrobial Stewardship in Agriculture (ICASA), including:

  • Improving detection, treatment and prevention of infectious lameness in pigs
  • Developing new diagnostic methods and technologies that facilitate antibiotic traceability across the pork supply chain

ICASA is one of the largest public-private partnerships focused on antibiotic stewardship in animal agriculture. They bring together partners and organizations representing all stages of the livestock supply chain to fund cutting edge research aimed at improving antibiotic stewardship in animal agriculture.

The National Pork Board is an ICASA consortium partner and a member of the executive committee. Participation in this consortium allows NPB to leverage Checkoff dollars to fund innovative projects that will improve antibiotic stewardship in the swine industry and beyond.
